Parking During Semester Start

General Rules

The parking regulations are enforced every day, twenty-four hours a day. However, during a semester start period special conditions exist, and the regulations are modified.

Semester Start is the period at the start of each semester from the Monday of the week prior to the first day of class through the fifth day of class. Semester Start periods include: the start of fall semester and the start of spring semester.

Special Conditions

Permits:

Blue parking zones: Permits are not required in the blue parking zones.

Gray parking zones: Permits are not required in the gray parking zones.

Crimson parking zones: Permits are not required in the crimson parking zones.

University-Owned Apartment parking areas: Permits are not required in the university-owned apartment areas.

Other parking zones:

Zone permits are required in orange, green, yellow, red and visitor zones.

Note: Any vehicle parked on university property, other than a pay area or metered space must clearly display a current university permit for a given area during the posted hours when permits are required. WAC-504-15-510

Note: Temporary One Hour Parking Zones will be established in portions of the crimson and gray zones during semester start to accommodate moving into and moving out of residence halls. Please follow this link to learn more about the Temporary One Hour Parking Program.

Parking Meters:

Payment is required during posted times.

Pay Parking Facilities:

Smith Center Garage, Library Garage, Student Recreation Center

Other Special Conditions
